# 2014-01-25 ## Marth vs Bowser, Dreamland (Netplay - moderate lag) His first hit was off a missed, non-cancelled Dair. Bowser gets a decent amount of Fairs during my platform movement. Either defend when he's approaching or outrun him. Bowser takes first stock but goes too far off stage, dies. Over B during recovery probably could have prevented the hit altogether. SD'd going for an offstage kill, missed and used second aerial instead of going for recovery. SD'd going for an offstage Dair kill, Bowser recovered higher. Finished with a back throw, back smash tipper. ### General notes Rolling a bit too much. Occasional approach to grab range went unpunished. If I go in, I should get a hit or get out. Still being too aggressive, punished. Spacing issues with approach. More cautious pursuit is advised. ## Captain Falcon vs Link, Pokemon Stadium (Netplay - moderate lag) His first hit was a bomb after a missed hard-read Dair. Link takes first stock with d-throw, up-b at the edge after a misspaced Dair. Patient play but with overly "hopeful" aerials throughout stage transformation. Link gets a grab, juggles to up-b at the edge for a kill. I should've DI'd to center stage instead of trying for counterattack from bad position. Missed punish during Link's fall from high percent stomp. Almost died from whiffed platform waveland. 09:00 - 09:15 is _extremely instructive_. Get back on stage, overly aggressive knee lands right in front of Link who spot dodges, I grab u-throw in response, go for knee, miss, land on platform, Link Dairs, I shield, then poorly attempt short hop aerial which gets hit by up-b. Retreat or pivot to tilt/dash attack/grab would've been better. Off stage stomp killed link, evened stocks, but no second jump. SD'd, Lost. ### General Notes As with Marth, I go for big, flashy aerials hits when tilts, dash attacks, or a grab would be better. I should be trying to bait or ground approach much more than I am. ## Captain Falcon vs Link, Yoshi's Story (Netplay - moderate lag) His first hit was from get up attack, I tried to roll away. Shield grab would be a better option. Get lucky big hits (reverse hitbox knee) for first kill. I have trouble approaching Link from the ground and he uses platforms, projectiles to punish. Die from missed grab to up-b. I wish Falcon's grab was better. Often go in with short hop nair when Link misses a grab. Have time for dashgrab to combo, better. Link SD's but would have won if he hadn't thrown a bomb at my short recovery and then come off stage. ### General Notes If I'm approaching and I start getting hit, I keep approaching instead of retreating. This is a mistake more often than not and really needs to be fixed. Being on the defensive and/or getting space is a smart response, not a bad one. Try to focus on holding center stage and getting back in the neutral, not attacking back! ## Marth vs Link, Fountain of Dreams (Netplay - moderate lag) His first hit was an f-tilt after a missed hard read Bair.
